Tom Lowe

Tom Lowe is a writer and filmmaker from Southern California. A decorated Gulf War veteran,[1] Lowe is best known as the author of Spin (ISBN 0-671-01923-6),[1] a roman à clef based on his experience working as a political operative in California.[2] He is also a former Chief Speech Writer for the Speaker of the California Assembly, and a former producer of the public affairs roundtable The McLaughlin Group.[1]

During the summer of 2006, Lowe shot pre-production footage for a feature film called The Plan for his former production company, Digital Lions.[3] The Plan is about an ex-CIA officer who comes to view religion as the greatest threat to humanity.

In November 2010, Lowe served as 2nd Unit Director and 2nd Unit Director of Photography on Godfrey Reggio's new Untitled Feature Film.[4] Lowe is the founder and proprietor of the largest timelapse community on the internet, Timescapes.org. He is currently shooting a 45-minute non-narrative film entitled TimeScapes in the Southwestern United States. Pre-production footage of the film can be seen here: http://www.vimeo.com/16369165 The genre is similar to Ron Fricke's Baraka.
